Question! Why do 90% of my watchers never show?

Journal Entry: Sat Jan 2, 2010, 6:36 AM

I have about 100 watchers. Yet from 90% I rarely hear anything. I wonder why that is? Are you a lazy watcher (only watching, never commenting.... I watch a lot of people like that, nothing wrong with it XD). Or does the direction my art has taken put you off (I know for a fact that a lot of my early watchers watched me for my fantasy art, which I rarely make any more). Is it because I'm often inactive for periods of time. Or is it because I rarely comment on your work (that 90% is also the 90% that I don't watch back)?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to make people guilty and push them into commenting. I'm just curious about why I get so little comments, and what I can do to change that. I'm already trying to become more active on dA, but it's hard to keep it up at times.

Happy New Year!

Journal Entry: Thu Dec 31, 2009, 9:52 AM

There is only little over 5 hours left of 2009 here in the Netherlands. Since I won't be online any more this evening, I want to wish everybody a very happy new year in advance ^__^

2009 has certainly been a crazy year for me. After a lot of doubt, I finally decided to try out for an artacademy. The HKU rejected me, but that didn't matter because the St. Joost didn't! I dropped out of university, and made my first steps in the big artworld. Although I was sad to leave my housemates and friends from university behind, artschool totally made up for it. And I made awsome new friends of course! Never before have I met so many likeminded people. My life has been in a rollercoaster since I started out at the St. Joost. I went to my first audiovisual arts festival. I wore my pink and black striped legwarmers to school for the first time. I went to my first devmeet. I finally got a different haircut. And that is only the tip of the iceberg, but it gives a decent summary of my past year.

I can't wait for 2010 to start. This year will be the official start of my animation classes, so it's going to be good no matter what! I wonder what else 2010 will bring ^_____^

My New Years Resolutions are
:bulletpurple: To sketch every day
:bulletpurple: To make a decent planning for my schoolwork and actually follow it (this one is going to be the hardest)
:bulletpurple: To get up earlier on days that I have nothing to do

Holidays + devmeet + blog!

Journal Entry: Sun Dec 20, 2009, 7:33 AM

First of all: my Christmas holiday had finally started! *yay* I managed to survive my final weeks of school without skipping one single class! I've been late a couple of times though due to an enormous lack of sleep. I need to work on my planning! And I still have a whole lot of work to do XD
It's snowing like crazy outside ^__^ I hope we'll have snow at Christmas!

There is a dutch deviantmeet in Utrecht on december the 29th. Read more about it here [link] I'm going, can I convince anyone else to come as well? ^__^ It going to be my first devmeet, I'm looking forward to it!

My blog [link] is in english now! I've split it up in an english and a dutch blog. They both contain the same pictures, but the dutch one is more elaborate than the english one. The dutch one is also private, so not everybody can read it. I'll probably be posting other things on my english blog too, like animations and artists I like. I'll need to sort out what I'll be putting in my blog and in my journal here... maybe I'll crosspost some things

Ohnoes! D:

Journal Entry: Tue Dec 8, 2009, 12:28 PM
How come I only realised today that there's only one and a half weeks of school left before the holiday? D: In two classes, I've only started to really take off this week, another one is just really hard to survive even with feedback. That means, that for three out of four classes I have a shipload of work to do these weeks. And even though the assessments are after the christmas holidays, it's a lot of work in very little time. Especially since doing most of the work over the holidays is taking a risk because there's no teacher to correct me if I happen to be on the wrong path. ONE AND A HALF WEEKS!!! For two animation of 1 minute (or at least a decent storyboard), at least 10 drawings, and probably another movie or a lot of photographs. And if it isn't bad enough that I need to do that much work for three classes, the only class where I feel that I am up to par is one that demands huge amounts of work every week, so that only adds up to it :(

On monday I have my last classes of the period for 2d and serial image. That gives me 6 days for those 2 animations and 10 drawings (that's a goal I've set for myself, but it's really necessary). I'm sooo stressed right now!!

On a more positive note, I found out yesterday that I'm going to be in a mediaclass instead of an animationclass for the rest of this year! That's great news, because that means that I'm going to be in the same class as a friend of mine who is going to study audiovisual design :D And also, one and a half weeks left before the christmas holidays means that there are only 5 and a half weeks left before my first animation lesson!
